A copy of the text Spicers
of Wilkes County, NC and Their Related Families is available.
If you download it, please email me
so that I have an idea of how much this site is being used. This text was
printed in 1973 by Bernard Spicer. It was updated in 1993 by Hardin and
Virginia Royall. It contains a listing of all of the known descendants
of William Spicer (who originally settled in Wilkes County in the late
1700's). The format is .pdf (Adobe Acrobat).
There are some differences
in the above text and the 1993 version. I have converted the orginal
data into an MS-Word format. This allows for an easy creation of
an index after any changes or updates.. I am hopeful that I will
be able to post a new edition every year. A lot depends on what information
I receive. So please send me any updated information you might have.
Actually, I would like to add dates of births, marriages and deaths to
the data we already have.
If there are other histories
of the Spicer family out there, please send them to me. I would like
to post them here as well. The number of histories that I am able
to post,, of course, depends on securing the necessary permissions.
The sum total of this project should make this site a wonderful place for
people researching the genealogy of the Spicer lines to come and get some
useful information.
If there any family reunions
being planned, I will post that information as well.
If you are interested in
helping or if you have some information, please let me know.
